Link or unlink a lead and a sale

Tie a lead to its sale yourself when matching missed it, or remove a link that is wrong.

Link a lead to a sale

Open Leads, choose Leads Log and find the lead.

In the Actions column, press the link icon. It reads Link to sale.

The Link Lead to Sale window lists sales that could be the same customer, best first. To look for another, type a last name in the search box.

Press Link on the right sale.

Type a note in Note (optional) if you want one, then press Link again.
The lead now reads SOLD, and the sale counts for the lead's vendor.
Start from the sale

Open Sales and choose Sales Log.

On a sale with no lead, press the link icon. It reads Link to lead.

In the Link Sale to Internet Lead window, press Link on the right lead, then Link again.
Remove a link

On Conversions, find the line under Lead → Sale Attribution and press Details.

Press Unlink Match.

Press Confirm Unlink.
Matching will not put that lead and that sale together again. The sale is free to match another lead.
Tip. In the Leads Log, a matched lead's link icon reads View linked sale. Press Unlink under Current Matches there to remove the link at once.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the next upload undo a link I made?
No. A link you made stays until you unlink it, or delete the lead or the sale.
The sale is already linked to another lead. What now?
A sale belongs to one lead. Unlink it from the other lead first, then link it here.
