Set your pay period and payouts start date

Published · Last updated

Choose when your pay period closes and the day Producify starts paying your team.

You first answer these in the setup wizard. Until your first Pay Team run you can change them here.

1
Open Settings and choose the Payouts tab.
2
Under Payout Defaults, press Edit to open Payout Settings.
3
Press Change settings, then confirm in Change payout settings?
4
Pick when the pay period closes, and the other choices below it.
5
Set the Payouts start date.
6
Press Save.

It applies right away, and your past numbers are recalculated with it.

The two pay periods

  • End of the calendar month: the month is the pay period. You can run Pay Team as often as you like, and each run pays what has been earned so far.
  • When I run Pay Team: each run closes the period and opens the next. A period is what you paid, from one run to the next.

Whichever you pick, bonus thresholds are measured on the calendar month.

The other choices

  • Rate Lock: with Written Date, a sale counts and is priced in the month it was written. With Issue Date, in the month it issues.
  • When Payouts Pay: When Sales Issue or Same Period Earned. See How pay works.
  • Chargeback Recovery Method: see Record a chargeback.

The payouts start date

It is for an office that paid its team another way before Producify.

  • Sales issued on or after the date are paid in Producify.
  • Money from before it is kept as history. It is shown month by month, it cannot be edited, and it is never offered to a Pay Team run.

Say Blue Oak Insurance sets the date to October 2026. A policy issued on September 28 stays history. One issued on October 3 is paid in Producify.

Frequently Asked Questions

We pay twice a month. Which choice is ours?

Either works. With End of the calendar month, run Pay Team on each pay day. With When I run Pay Team, each run closes a period, so your periods follow your own pay days.

Can I move the payouts start date later on?

Only until your first Pay Team run. Once a run has been made, the date is set and the window no longer shows it.
