Upload internet leads

Published · Last updated

Bring in the file of leads a vendor sends you, so each lead can be matched to a sale.

2 minutes · Owner

1
Open Data from the menu and choose Upload Data.
2
Set Data type to Internet Leads.
3
Under Lead Provider, pick the vendor, or type a new name to add one.
4
Under Lead Type, press Data Leads or Live Calls.
5
Drop the file in the box, or press Click to browse.
6
Look at the button under the file. If it reads Fix mapping, match the file's columns first.
7
Press Upload & Process.
8
Read the Result column under Uploaded today. Press Row details to see each line.

What the result words mean:

  • imported: new leads.
  • updated: leads already there that changed, such as a new cost or return status.
  • already in your log: leads already there, with nothing changed.
  • blank rows: lines with no name and no phone number. They are left out.

If the result asks you to add cost under Office costs, the file had no cost column. Enter the vendor's monthly spend instead.

Tip. Uploading the same file again is safe. A lead already in your log is not added twice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a file read 0 imported?

Every line was read as a blank row, so the name columns are probably not matched. Press Review mapping and check Lead Name, or First Name and Last Name.

Why is a lead tagged DUP?

The same name and zip code came in before, from another vendor or on another date. Both are kept, and the later one is left out of the totals on Conversions.

Who can upload leads?

The owner, and a Custom member the owner has given Data. A Basic member has no Data in the menu.
