  • On Rule of 78, a Life policy credits one twelfth of its annual premium every month for 12 months, starting the month it is issued.
  • On Rule of 108, a Health policy pays half its annual premium when it issues and the other half six months later.

So the issue date, not the premium, decides how much of a policy counts this year.

1
Open Rule of 78/108 from the menu.
2
Click a card at the top, Rule of 78 for Life or Rule of 108 for Health, and pick the year with the arrows.
3
Read the sum: Credits received plus Scheduled equals Full year. On Rule of 108 the first box reads Payments received.
4
With a premium goal set, press Pace & what it takes › for Year-end at this pace, Current gap and New policies needed.
5
Click a month in the table under the charts for its policies. Details › opens one policy, with View in Sales Log.

The words on the page:

  • Received: credits dated today or earlier, from issued policies.
  • Scheduled: credits still to come by December 31.
  • Carryover: credits from this year's policies that land next year.
  • Current gap: how far the year is from your Premium ($) goal, set on the Goals tab of Settings. The gap is the goal less the full-year figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a policy missing from the page?

Most often it has no issue date. Turn on Include written, not yet issued, or add the issue date in the Sales Log.

Are these credits pay?

No. The credits are premium. The page does not read Commission plans or Payouts.

Does the page multiply anything by 78 or 108?

No. The numbers name the two tabs. The sums are 12 monthly credits for Life and two payments for Health.
